Julien, the creator of Exploration Junkie, is deeply passionate about discovery, nature travel, wildlife, archaeology, adventure, and exploration in all its forms. With an insatiable curiosity and a slightly nerdy love for learning, he feels most alive when immersed in the wilderness or wandering through ancient temples. His dream—ambitious as it is—is to explore it all. Though he holds a French passport, his imagination has always been borderless. From an early age, he was captivated by content that transported him to distant corners of the world—*The Adventures of Tintin*, wildlife documentaries, and any media that inspired curiosity about far-off lands and exotic creatures. These early influences laid the groundwork for a lifelong fascination with travel and the natural world. A pivotal moment came when he took his first plane ride at age 12, bound for Israel. The desert heat, the Dead Sea, and the unfamiliar language made a lasting impression. By 20, he set off on his first solo adventure to South America. It was there that he encountered tropical jungles, mangroves, vibrant birdlife, and snow-capped volcanoes for the first time—an experience that left him completely spellbound. Now, after more than 18 years of travel and visits to over 50 countries, his passion continues to grow. Along the way, he also found love—10,700 kilometers from home—with a woman from Singapore. After maintaining a long-distance relationship for seven years, they are now married and living together in Singapore. Today, travel and nature remain central to his life—bordering on obsession. He embarks on multiple trips each year, sometimes alone, sometimes with his wife, constantly seeking new landscapes to explore and new species to observe. The more remote and rarely visited a place is, the stronger his attraction to it. For him, curiosity is more than a personal trait—it’s a way of life.
