The Abbey of Misrule

This site was launched in early 2021 to explore and analyze “the Machine”—a term the author uses to describe the spiritual and cultural system dominating modern life. Over two years, this project evolved into a more explicitly spiritual journey. By mid-2023, the author concluded that our societal crises are not primarily political, economic, or technological, but deeply spiritual in nature. These wounds, the author argues, require spiritual healing—not intellectual solutions. In the process, the author became an Orthodox Christian and now writes from that perspective, focusing on the spiritual disorder of modern times and offering what he sees as healing through faith. While the writing has a Christian foundation, it welcomes readers of all backgrounds—religious or not—and invites them on a journey through the wilderness of contemporary life in search of deeper meaning.
